Contest Overview: TORQ 2026

TORQ- Campus Challenge 2026 - "Accelerate your Thinking" is Bajaj Auto Ltd.’s flagship engineering case competition, crafted for students who can think fast, design smart, and solve real industrial challenges. Since 2023, TORQ has built strong acceptance across Top Institutes across the country.

The 2026 edition runs from Jan 12th to Mar 13th 2026 across 30 top engineering institutes in India. It features exclusive Campus Hackathons at Top 10 Institutes and concludes with a 3-day Grand Finale at the Bajaj Auto Campus.

Participants will work in teams on design thinking problems, mechanical and cross-domain engineering cases, including a new Robotics & Automation track. Grand Finale participants will receive direct mentorship from our R&D and engineering leadership.

Mode: Offline at 10 selected campuses (IITs: Madras, Delhi, Kharagpur, Kanpur, BHU; NITs: Trichy, Warangal, Surathkal, Calicut, Rourkela).

Live problem-solving. Top 3 teams per campus qualify directly to Stage II.

Design Thinking (Stage I)

10th Feb – 15th Feb 2026

Mode: Online. Access Problem Statement-1 in Automotive Design/ Mechanical & Cross-Domain Engineering/ Robotics & Automation. Submit PDF solution.

Design Thinking (Stage II)

23rd Feb – 28th Feb 2026

Mode: Online. Top 300 shortlisted teams (including Hackathon qualifiers) receive additional data to refine solutions.

Results Announcement

04th March 2026

Mode: Online

Campus Winners announced. Top 10 teams nationally qualify for the Grand Finale.

FAQs

What is the allowed team size?
Teams must consist of 2 to 3 members from the same institute. All team members must belong to the same academic institution.
Will participation certificates be provided?
Yes, certificates will be issued to all teams that successfully complete Stage I.
Are there special benefits for hackathon participation?
Yes, Top 3 teams participating in the hackathon receive event goodies and direct qualification to Stage II (Design Thinking Round).
What is the mode and venue of the Grand Finale?
The Grand Finale will be at our Bajaj Auto Headquarters. We will arrange round-trip travel and accommodation for all national finalists.
How are Campus Winners selected?
The Top 20 campuses are shortlisted based on submission volume. From each shortlisted campus, the team with the highest score in Stage II is declared the Campus Winner (Prize: INR 30,000).
What are the PPO/PPI rules for National Winners?
  • B.Tech 2nd year / Dual Degree 3rd year: Internship Interviews or Direct Internship Offer next year.
  • Pre-Final year students: Campus Placement Interviews or Direct Job Offers next year.
  • Final year students: Campus Placement Interviews or Direct Job Offers this year.
